Various EHS / ESG Due Diligence Roles (Consulting Associate – Consulting Director)

  • Our Transactions and Private Market Advisory team is experiencing significant growth, and we seek individuals to deliver top-tier services to meet this demand.

  • Consultants in EHS / ESG Due Diligence roles at ERM work on a wide range of buy-side and sell-side transactions for private market investors, their portfolio companies, and corporate clients, to identify EHS / ESG risks, liabilities, and opportunities from both financial and reputational perspectives.

More senior positions will require demonstrating and driving (to varying degrees) the following, with more junior roles supporting project delivery and aspects of these responsibilities:

  • Leading and directing large, global projects, ensuring client satisfaction and profitable delivery.

  • Providing expert guidance on strategic EHS / ESG matters leveraging our global pool of subject matter experts.

  • Having a strong technical background in delivering due diligence evaluating company EHS / ESG performance on governance, compliance, and liability management.

  • Understanding broader macro sustainability / ESG topics as they relate to companies in the real economy and investment community, and how these translate into transaction-relevant topics (e.g., ESG governance, climate strategy, decarbonization, social issues like human rights, EU Green Deal).

  • Understanding how EHS / ESG due diligence findings are used by clients and interact with other advisors and workstreams (e.g., financial, legal, commercial due diligence, investment banks).

  • Ability to identify and manage commercial and operational risks from conception through project delivery.

  • Ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication, producing quality deliverables, translating complex technical topics into commercial insights, and identifying opportunities to create or maintain value.

  • Having expertise in one or more industrial sectors such as energy, mining & metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, telecommunications, and infrastructure is preferred.

  • Private markets experience is preferred but not required.
