Women in Data® is partnering with a world-renowned global innovation consultancy to hire a Managing Consultant in London. You will tackle complex challenges, turn data science and advanced analytics into impactful solutions, and work across public and private sectors.

You will own the analytical lifecycle, translate business problems into evidence-based models, present findings to diverse audiences, and help grow client accounts while building opportunities across sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, Physics or Statistics.
• Strong Python, SQL, Excel and data visualization skills.
• Proven experience designing, developing and delivering analytical models.
• Consulting experience or demonstrable stakeholder management skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with client relationship development.
• Curious, collaborative approach and problem solving.
• Bonus: Databricks, PySpark, R, Power BI or Palantir Foundry.

You'll work across public and private sector projects, applying everything from mathematical modelling and machine learning to advanced analytics to solve problems that rarely have straightforward answers.

There's also plenty of opportunity to look beyond project delivery. You'll help build client relationships, uncover new opportunities, explore different markets and find new ways to showcase the consultancy's expertise.

THE ROLE

• Apply mathematical modelling, machine learning and advanced analytics to complex real-world challenges.
• Own the full analytical lifecycle, from exploratory analysis and model development through to testing, delivery and handover.
• Translate business problems into innovative, evidence-based analytical solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop creative solutions.
• Build client relationships, understand business challenges and identify opportunities to apply the consultancy's expertise.
• Develop new propositions and find innovative ways to showcase the consultancy's capabilities.
• Help grow existing accounts, identify new clients and develop opportunities across different sectors.

GROWING THE BUSINESS

This is about more than project delivery. You'll have the opportunity to combine technical expertise with consulting, relationship building and commercial growth.

• Identify new client opportunities and help develop strategic accounts.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders and understand their emerging business challenges.
• Explore new markets and identify organisations that could benefit from the consultancy's expertise.
• Work with technical specialists to develop new propositions and solutions.
• Contribute to client conversations, proposals and new business opportunities.
• Find new ways to demonstrate how data science, analytics and innovation can solve problems and deliver value.

You don't need to be a salesperson. We're looking for someone commercially curious, proactive and interested in building relationships and creating opportunities.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A degree, Master's or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, Physics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Strong practical experience with Python, SQL, Excel and data visualisation.
• Proven experience designing, developing and delivering analytical models.
• Experience using data and evidence to support business decisions across public or private sector organisations.
• Consulting experience or demonstrable stakeholder management skills.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in developing client relationships and growing a business.
• A curious, collaborative approach and a genuine enthusiasm for solving complex problems.

Additional experience with Databricks, PySpark, R, Power BI or Palantir Foundry would be beneficial.
