Job Description:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Join our Infrastructure and Energy (IE) team as an experienced Lawyer (4-8 years PQE) in Leeds, advising public and private sector clients on energy and transport projects.
  • Manage commercial contracts related to energy infrastructure and transport, providing advice on sector mandates for a diverse client base including companies, developers, PE funds, and financial institutions.

THE TEAM:

  • Our IE practice is renowned for its expertise, offering comprehensive advice across markets like waste, renewable energy, hydrogen, CCUS, and more.
  • We serve developers, sponsors, procuring authorities, funders, and both public and private clients on complex projects.
  • Recent projects include Gas to the West, VW-Ford alliance, Nissan microgrid, and numerous renewable energy initiatives.

Current clients include SSE, Ovo, Octopus, Engie, Agility Trains, Bluefield Solar, National Grid, Red Rock Power, Department for Transport, Arrival, and others involved in renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and managing transaction processes with support from the team.
  • Engaging in business development and training activities.
  • Leading and mentoring junior team members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-8 years PQE in Infrastructure, Energy, and Transport sectors; corporate experience is a plus.
  • Ability to support complex transactions and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Strong client-facing skills, ambition, and confidence in delivering high-standard work.
