Job summary

McDonalds UK seeks a Manager of Physical & Technical Security to develop and implement security strategies for UK corporate assets, reporting to the Security Department. The role is based in East Finchley with travel worldwide and leadership over the security team.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with law enforcement and agencies, and ensure alignment with risk management. Strong leadership, policy development, and global security experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years in Physical & Technical security; 3+ years in leadership.
  • Experience developing security policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of physical, risk, and information security.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience operating with a GSOC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge in Executive Protection and Intelligence.
  • 3 years of military or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate security measures into their operations.
  • Manage security vendors to include RFPs.
  • Stay informed of the latest security threats and trends.
  • Collaborate with Corporate HQ to align global initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with local community.
  • Manage and maintain security technology (cameras, access control, and alarm systems).
  • Coordination with Emergency Services (fire and life safety).
  • Maintain employee duty of care.
  • Streamline security systems to communicate globally where applicable.
  • Consult on all corporate office builds and modifications globally.

Department Overview

The UK Manager of Physical & Technical Security will be responsible for developing and implementing security strategies to ensure the security of all UK company corporate assets, including employees, facilities, and information globally. This role will be based in our East Finchley office but will require travel to our locations worldwide.

Duties

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional security management certification preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Physical & Technical security role with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  3. Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
  4. Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary security practices such as physical security, risk management, and information security.
  5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to travel as needed.
  8. Experience operating with a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and tech trends.
  10. Knowledge in Executive Protection and Intelligence
  11. 3 years of military or law enforcement experience.
