The Manager of Construction (MOC) – Data Center Operations is responsible for the project delivery of a large EPCM portfolio for a Tier-1 Data Center client, providing the interface between projects and the business. This business‑critical role ensures successful outcomes of Construction Management and EPCMV projects. The MOC engages with the business early in the sales process, brings a construction‑driven project delivery approach to the team, and leads implementation through to project closeout.
The MOC works closely with sales to identify staffing opportunities, prepare and deliver sales presentations on pre‑construction and construction services, and support negotiations of contracts, commercial terms and rates. The MOC also provides expertise on implementation approaches (IPD, Design Assist, Design Build, Design Bid Build).
People and staffing: The MOC has administrative responsibility for performance reviews and timesheets for Site Managers and construction teams, and is responsible for training, coaching, and career development. The MOC works with Data Center Leadership to strategically place CM staff on projects.
Forecasting: The MOC collaborates with other BUs to capture prospects where margin will be shared, coordinating with finance and ensuring accurate margin forecasts.
Project performance: The MOC works with safety, lean delivery, and operations teams to set up each job, ensuring staffing, processes, tools, and procedures are in place. The MOC oversees health and safety, reports on safety, risk, cost, schedule, quality and client issues, participates in gate reviews, and—when necessary—serves as Designated Project Executive. The MOC also partners with digital delivery teams and interfaces with clients on project delivery improvements.
