We are looking for a Manager of Client Accounting to join our offices in London. In this position, you will play a key role in the growth of our Corporate Services business.


The position

As a Manager of Client Accounting within the Corporate Services side of the Client Accounting team, your role will be to manage a team of accountants, ensuring they are well trained and motivated to deliver excellent client service. You will ensure all tasks are appropriately allocated across the team to meet deadlines and open development opportunity doors for other team members.

You will act as the main point of escalation for client queries, and you will need a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to lead by example. You will need to be highly organised, pay close attention to detail, and be keen to cope with multiple tasks, prioritise, and provide excellent customer service, which CSC CLS (UK) Limited and the wider Group is well known for. You will have extensive knowledge of IFRS and FRS102, producing standalone and group consolidated accounts, and be able to ensure accounts are 100% compliant with these standards.

Knowing how to build an effective team by fostering open dialogue, working collaboratively, and instilling trust through honesty and integrity is essential. Sharing your knowledge and experience to up-skill your team is key, so collectively you will find solutions to build strong customer relationships with existing and new clients, gaining insight into their needs and delivering customer-centric solutions.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of local and international clients in real estate, private equity, renewable energies, consultancy, IT, transportation, and holding companies. The portfolio will include multiple consolidations under IFRS and FRS 102, and you will possess a high level of technical expertise and experience in the production of consolidated financial statements and audit liaisons of the same.


Your responsibilities
Leadership

• Leads by example in accordance with the CSC values and related behaviours.
• Meets regularly with direct reports to identify issues, discuss solutions, and encourage them to be proactive in identifying potential efficiencies and new revenue opportunities.


Financial Services

• Prepare consolidated statutory financial statements under UK GAAP (“FRS 102”) and IFRSs using CCH accounts production software.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts under UK GAAP (“FRS 101 & FRS 102”) and IFRSs using different accounting packages such as Microsoft Business Central, Quickbooks, and XERO.
• Prepare quarterly group consolidated accounts under IFRSs.
• Prepare interim financial statements under IFRSs.
• Liaise with companies’ auditors and prepare audit files required by the auditors.
• Review financial statements and management accounts prepared by Client accountants and Junior client accountants.
• Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Complete VAT registration for clients and review VAT returns prepared by Client Accountants and Junior Client Accountants.
• Produce ad hoc reports and analysis as and when required by the Client.
• Maintain client relationships at the appropriate level and maintain a favourable impression of the Company.
• Assist with clients' corporation tax calculations and filings with HMRC.
• Attend board meetings where necessary.
• Close involvement with the UK cash management team in respect of client payment administrations.
• Take an active part in the initial onboarding of any new Corporate Services Client.
• Work closely with the Company Secretary department to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Assist the Business Development Manager in prospective client tendering (fee quotes and resource planning).
• Delegate tasks for development purposes and provide appropriate support and supervision.
• Review and revise existing accounting practices and procedures for any changes in accounting standards.


People Management

• Identify development needs for direct reports and agree on action plans, including but not limited to providing training, mentoring, feedback, and recognition, and drafting development plans.
• Encourage and empower direct reports on personal development, outstanding performance, and a positive attitude consistent with CSC values.
• Work closely with direct reports to solve issues and problems and ensure the continuous high quality and timeliness of service.
• Motivate, guide, and support direct reports, providing high quality, up-to-date information and support.
• Support the Director in managing team capacity and assist in the recruitment process for hiring staff.
• With the support of the Director and Human Resources, organise the annual appraisal, target setting, and promotion process for direct reports.
• Keep up to date with new accounting standards and instruct/guide direct reports.
• Make recommendations and offer suggestions and solutions for improvements to services.
• Have regular 1:1s with direct reports offering constructive criticism and feedback.


Client Invoicing

• Review the client invoicing and invoice breakdowns before sign off by the Director to ensure appropriate chargeability and proper invoicing.
• Ensure own time and that of the direct reports is recorded daily to ensure appropriate chargeability.


Business Development and Client Relationships

• Attend meetings of prospects and intermediaries in order to present CSC and its services.
• Participate in business trips for visiting existing clients, intermediaries, and new potential clients.


Directorships

• Expected to take on the role of Director/Manager in the boards of client companies.


Your profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS102) accounting standards.
• Experience producing financial statements for large group structures.
• Relevant experience working in a client-facing environment, either from practice or having worked in the Big 4.
• A highly credible individual with intellectual ability and a hands-on approach.
• A high performer with a proven track record of delivering results and demonstrating leadership.
• Excellent English language skills.
