Job summary

Teva Pharmaceuticals in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Manager of Occupational Safety to lead corporate safety programs, governance, and continuous improvement across sites. You will collaborate with regional teams to ensure Teva’s EHS&S standards are consistently applied.

You will analyze safety data, develop training, and support audits while traveling up to 20% to factories and sites. A strong background in regulated environments and pharma/chemical operations is essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial safety experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Corporate experience is preferred, with at least 3 years in pharmaceutical, chemical or comparable high-risk operations.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, or improving safety management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety requirements in regulated environments.
  • Additional certifications in machinery safety, emergency response, process safety, human factors, or organizational safety are an advantage.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with a pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and navigate complex environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills without direct authority.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain corporate occupational safety programs, standards and enabling tools.
  • Contribute to the operation of Teva’s EHS&S management system.
  • Support governance for high-risk activities and safe systems of work in production processes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update safety programs and tools.
  • Participate in Teva’s OHSTAC (Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technical Advisory Committee).
  • Analyze safety data and KPIs to identify trends and risks.
  • Prepare safety insights to support management reviews and assurance.
  • Support development and deployment of safety training programs.
  • Act as core member of Global EHS&S audit team and support CAPA.
  • Provide technical guidance on investigations to drive learning and systemic improvement.

The Manager, Occupational Safety supports the business through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate occupational safety programs, systems, and capabilities. This role is ideal for an experienced safety professional looking to expand into broader program ownership, governance, and organizational learning.

The position requires a technically strong, pragmatic, and reliable professional who can work independently, collaborate effectively with site and regional teams at all levels, and help ensure the consistent application of Teva’s EHS&S management system.

How You’ll Spend Your Day
Program, Systems and Governance
  • Support the design, implementation and maintenance of corporate occupational safety programs, standards and enabling tools.
  • Contribute to the effective operation of Teva’s EHS&S management system.
  • Support governance processes for high‑risk activities, safe systems of work and proactive safety risk management in production processes.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory changes and support timely updates to occupational safety programs, standards and tools.
  • Participate in Teva’s Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technical Advisory Committee (OHSTAC).
Performance Monitoring, Learning & Trend Analysis
  • Analyze occupational safety data and KPIs to identify trends, systemic issues and emerging risks.
  • Prepare safety performance insights to support management review and assurance.
Training & Capability Building
  • Support development and deployment of occupational safety training programs.
  • Contribute to building capability across site EHS&S teams.
Audit & Assurance
  • Act as a core member of the Global EHS&S audit team, supporting planning, execution and follow‑up.
  • Support sites in developing effective CAPAs that address audit findings and strengthen controls.
Event Support (as required)
  • Provide technical guidance on investigations when needed, focusing on learning and systemic improvement.
Your Skills and Experience
  • University degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industrial safety experience with increasing responsibility.
