SUMMARY
Supervise Mechanical Engineering and Documentation Control departments in related activities.
Responsible for documentation control accuracy, security, and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide engineering support for manufacture, inspection, and testing of goods and services produced.
2. Ensure adequate staffing for engineering activities.
3. Provide leadership and engineering support for product/service development.
4. Communicate with customers regarding engineering activities.
5. Oversee a system for configuration and documentation control in accordance with customer and ISO requirements.
6. Perform other related duties to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
7. Ensure activities comply with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and report deviations to the appropriate manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee mechanical engineering, design, and drafting activities.
2. Conduct supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and regulations, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and evaluating staff, as well as addressing employee concerns.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Familiarize with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
2. Understand and adhere to AS9100/ISO procedures and work instructions.
3. Complete all required records per procedures.
4. Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) initiatives as appropriate.
5. Engage in AS9100/ISO training as needed.
6. Cooperate with auditors and report deviations to the appropriate manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Experience with mechanical, thermal, fluid, and systems analysis.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Finite Element Analysis, CAD, spreadsheets, project management tools, databases, presentation graphics, and word processing.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must qualify for all other job descriptions requiring security clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent, lengthy air travel; long periods of standing, walking, and sitting during normal operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to travel risks, mechanical parts, high/precarious places, weather conditions, and potentially hostile environments. Extended hours and travel may be required.
