If you’re looking to take an exciting new direction with your HSBC career, an internal move can open the door to many opportunities, allowing you to take on a new challenge and develop your skills. Bring your knowledge of our brand to a new role and grow yourself further.

Our Risk and Compliance function plays a critical role in supporting, challenging, and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. We focus on creating an environment that encourages our people to speak up, do the right thing, and protect our customers, the organization, and the integrity of the financial markets in which we operate. As an industry leader, we aim to continue setting standards and evolving in response to strategic changes.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as Manager, Group Regulatory Policy & Advisory.

The Global Regulatory Policy and Advisory team is responsible for providing guidance on regulatory policy interpretation, business advisory, and engagement with regulators and industry bodies. The role involves providing regulatory analysis and advice focused on traded risk within the prudential regulation framework, including current and future rules.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package, including private healthcare, enhanced maternity and adoption pay, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role, you will:

  1. Provide subject matter guidance and thought leadership on regulatory policy and interpretation of the traded risk prudential framework for current and future rules.
  2. Offer traded risk regulatory advisory support to internal stakeholders in the business and support functions in risk and finance, including change management.
  3. Support business transaction policy development and provide advice.
  4. Meet regulatory demands from the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), including supporting senior management attestations, thematic reviews, information requests, and CRO letters.
  5. Assist the group with regulatory permissions and notifications.

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of the prudential regulation framework for traded risk, including capital requirements for counterparty credit risk and/or Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) risk. Quantitative background is not required.
  2. Solid experience in prudential regulatory policy and reporting, gained through work with financial institutions, consultancy, or regulators.
  3. Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to banking products and transactions, and communicate this clearly to stakeholders.
  4. Proven ability to develop, review, and maintain high-quality regulatory documentation ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all organizational levels.

The role is based in London or Edinburgh, with a hybrid work arrangement.

We value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to creating a workplace that respects and welcomes everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or age. We aim to remove barriers and ensure careers at HSBC are accessible and inclusive for all.
