This role is considered Hybrid.

Overview

Reporting to the Associate Director, Long Range Planning, the Manager of Financial Planning & Portfolio Analytics is responsible for supporting the company's long-range financial planning processes, portfolio financial analyses, and decision-making. This includes analyzing financial trends and risks, supporting strategic analysis and recommendations across the R&D portfolio, and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders in business and Finance. The role requires strong financial analysis, business acumen, and data-driven insights.

This position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the annual Long Range Plan, including coordination of inputs from business units and consolidation of financial projections.
2. Partner with FP&A business partners and cross-functional teams to gather data and align on key planning assumptions.
3. Build financial models to support various portfolio scenarios, analysis, and valuations.
4. Analyze historical results, market trends, and the competitive landscape to validate assumptions and identify risks/opportunities in long-range projections.
5. Generate comprehensive presentations of financial analysis tailored to variance audiences, including executive leadership and the board of directors.
6. Support continuous improvement by working with FP&A and business units to enhance and automate processes and evaluate tools for data collection, analysis, etc.
7. Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Treasury & BD, leveraging LRP data to support other workstreams.
8. Assist in developing ad hoc financial analyses, models, and projects to support strategic investments and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CFA is a plus.
• Minimum 4+ years of relevant financial experience (e.g., Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Strategy) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance principles and financial statements.
• Strong financial analysis and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with eagerness to collaborate and share insights.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning software/tools.
• Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and developing insights from complex data sets is preferred.
• Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred.
