Department Information and Context

The Finance Transformation team aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of finance functions, generating insights to add value. Our mission is to help clients create a digitally enabled, human-centric, and integrated finance function.

Our Financial Transformation practice is a strategic growth area. We work with leading corporate clients to understand core issues and deliver value-adding changes across finance functions, focusing on technology implementations, efficiency, and maturity development.

We are a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, working with technology professionals to deliver KPMG Powered Enterprise through a standardized delivery model.

The role will be within our Finance Transformation team, which combines consulting professionals experienced in implementing finance change for large corporates. We aim to transform finance functions from scorekeepers to strategic partners driving growth and decision-making.

Applicants should have experience in large corporates and in-depth knowledge of finance processes and technology. They should be able to:

  • Manage small to medium-sized transformation programs, including planning and execution
  • Organize work packages, oversee data analysis, and facilitate workshops
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate to deliver programs
  • Identify opportunities for finance operating model improvements
  • Oversee report writing and quality assurance
  • Manage engagement teams and project risks
  • Support risk management and opportunity development
  • Assist in RFP responses and proposals
  • Build relationships to support sales and market presence
  • Contribute to thought leadership and external representation
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to team culture
  • Develop firm-specific methodologies and IP
  • Support operational responsibilities within the team

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Successful candidates should have:

  • 6+ years experience in finance functions of large corporates or in professional services consulting
  • Experience managing finance improvement projects
  • Strong knowledge of core finance processes and interdependencies
  • Experience with ERP technologies (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, WorkDay)
  • Understanding of finance operating models, including systems, data, processes, controls, and governance
  • Ability to shape deliverables to meet client outcomes
  • Awareness of current challenges and future trends in finance functions
  • Relevant sector experience in areas like Aerospace & Defence, Consumer Markets, Energy, etc.

Core skills include people management, excellent communication, implementation experience, and knowledge of finance systems landscape.
