Position Summary

Due to business growth, we are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our STERIS CI Team. The role involves developing new or improving existing processes to enhance quality and reliability, either directly or by leading/supporting teams. The manager will establish medium to long-term objectives, focusing on cost savings and quality improvements, in a manner consistent with safety, company policies, customer service, and plant objectives. The role requires close collaboration with Operations, CI, Facilities, and Quality departments to manage complex process issues and contribute to overall business performance. This is a home-based position, with potential national and international travel.

Duties and Role Requirements

  1. Use technical capacity to collect and analyze data, making improvements based on findings.
  2. Facilitate process reviews, methods, equipment, and training to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  3. Utilize statistical tools and lean principles to identify root causes and improve processes.
  4. Facilitate Kaizen events and provide guidance for planning these events.
  5. Monitor progress of process improvements to ensure tangible benefits.
  6. Identify ways to optimize processing performance and provide feedback to leadership.
  7. Assist in resolving process problems through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  8. Implement mistake-proofing methods and develop workstation aids.
  9. Troubleshoot process issues for improvement and sustainment.
  10. Use personal protective equipment and monitor safety conditions.
  11. Support Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement values, ensuring defect-free work and reducing waste.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned, supporting company policies and directives.

Demonstrative Skills and Achievements

  1. Qualification in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or equivalent engineering/science.
  2. Ability to influence, coach, and support team members' CI learning and development.
  3. Experience with statistical analysis and project management.
  4. Knowledge of Lean principles, ROI, waste reduction, ergonomics, etc.
  5. Proficiency with computer applications, especially Microsoft Office.

  2. Fluent in English and German, with effective communication skills.
  3. Capable of working independently under supervision.
  4. A team leader and motivator.
  5. Organized with strong analytical and math skills, including advanced algebra, calculus, or statistics.
