This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead the Commercial Lending Direct team within Specialist Commercial Banking Sales. You will lead a team of 6 colleagues to provide a first-class remote telephony service to customers with Commercial Lending requirements. Our goal is to put customers first, keep banking simple, and make a difference together to help Britain prosper. The Commercial Lending Direct team is part of the Specialist Commercial Banking Sales within the Commercial Banking Coverage Business and supports Business & Commercial Banking clients with Term Lending, Overdrafts, and Corporate Card facilities up to £250k.
The team is well established and recognized across the business as credit specialists, continuing to drive growth and support to clients.
Manage, motivate, develop, coach, and appraise team members to achieve business goals, promoting equal opportunities.
Develop team capabilities and working practices, supporting proposition shaping, workflow management, operational efficiencies, and risk and compliance management.
Monitor and evaluate team performance against objectives, recognizing achievements and addressing issues.
Model client-centric behaviour and challenge non-client-centric practices.
Collaborate with bank RMs and ADs to maximize referrals.
Adapt to evolving lending processes with flexibility and resilience.
Leadership experience managing small to medium teams, including coaching and performance management.
Proven track record of driving performance with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Understanding of Commercial Lending, credit processes, and associated risks.
Excellent communication, analytical, and numerical skills for credit assessment support.
Proactive, growth-minded, adaptable to change.
Strong collaborator with relationship-building skills.
Experience in proposition shaping and workflow management.
Knowledge of risk and compliance in commercial banking.
