Job summary

Capstone Investment Advisors is seeking a qualified accounting professional to join the management company accounting team in London. The role supports EMEA entities, including the Netherlands, posting entries and performing reconciliations with a close collaboration with US teams.

Overview

This professional will be a key member of the management company accounting team, supporting EMEA accounting processes, including accounting entries and reconciliations for the Netherlands and other EMEA entities. The role will also work closely with external accountants to ensure entries are posted accurately and on a timely basis, while collaborating with the wider Management Accounting team in the US.

Responsibilities and Impact

• Support the Management accounting team from the UK on accounting processes, reporting requirements and recurring deliverables, with a primary focus on EMEA entities
• Assist with the accurate and timely preparation, review and posting of accounting entries for assigned entities, including the Netherlands affiliate and other EMEA entities
• Prepare and maintain month-end account reconciliations, ensuring balances are supported, reviewed and resolved on a timely basis
• Coordinate with external accountants and local service providers to support the preparation of local accounting records, including providing general ledger, trial balance and other supporting information as required
• Assist with recurring Netherlands-related accounting and reporting tasks, including support for local financial reporting, remuneration-related filings and other scheduled deliverables
• Support entity-level accounting for dividend, vested balance and similar transactions by preparing supporting schedules, coordinating approvals and ensuring related accounting entries are recorded accurately and on a timely basis
• Assist with the month-end close process, including coordination of journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules and follow-up items
• Assist with statutory, regulatory and audit-related requests for EMEA entities and limited other management company entities, including preparation of supporting documentation where required
• Help maintain strong controls around accounting entries, reconciliations, scheduled tasks and supporting documentation
• Other accounting and reporting duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Our future colleague has these skills

• Degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline preferred
• Strong academic record, with A-Level Mathematics or equivalent preferred
• 1-3 years experience in accounting, finance, audit or another relevant financial services role
• Part-qualified or working towards an accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, is a plus but not required
• Internship or professional accounting experience is a plus
• Knowledge of accounting principles and an interest in management company accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with financial data and identify discrepancies
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage various tasks concurrently while maintaining awareness of deadlines
• Ability to communicate efficiently and concisely, both written and verbal
• Strong dedication to quality, accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
• Familiarity with accounting, ERP or expense management systems is a plus, including NetSuite and SAP Concur
• Interest in leveraging technology, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, enhance controls and increase efficiency
• Familiarity with data analysis, reporting or workflow automation tools is a plus
• Python knowledge or practical coding experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization, including colleagues in London, EMEA and the US
• Comfortable working with external accountants and service providers to resolve accounting and reconciliation matters

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
