Job summary

Global Brands Limited in Chesterfield is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our busy finance team and lead a trio of direct reports. You'll manage monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and provide commercial financial insight across the business.

This role combines detailed accounting with people leadership and strategic thinking. You’ll work closely with colleagues and report to the Finance Manager, helping the business make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified CCAB or part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong month-end and management accounts experience.
• Experience managing and developing a team.
• Good knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Strong Excel skills with confidence in financial data.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Confident communicator who can build relationships across the business.
• Commercial mindset to turn financial information into insight.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support wider reporting.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Provide financial analysis and commentary for business decisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activity.
• Manage the month-end close process and deadlines.
• Produce ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
• Collaborate across the business to provide timely financial information.
• Support the Finance Manager with wider activities and reporting.
• Lead, manage and develop three direct reports, including setting objectives and monitoring performance.
• Create a positive, collaborative team environment and drive development.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
