Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant Reporting Lead responsible for all group management reports, including group financial performance, board reports, cash flow reports, and forecast/budget books. You will partner with the wider FP&A and financial reporting teams, providing key analysis and insights.

This role aims to develop management reports and analysis across the group, implementing best practices to enhance insight, accountability, and understanding of Thames Water's management results.

What you'll be doing as a Management Accountant Reporting Lead

• Providing monthly reports to the CO-CEOs, CFO, the Board, and shareholders, tailored to their needs.
• Creating high-quality reports, analysis, and commentary on performance.
• Managing relationships to understand performance drivers and business cost trends, producing insights for decision-making.
• Understanding P&L and cash flow performance, providing insights to improve Thames Water's understanding of cost trends and drivers, with support from the Business FP&A teams.
• Collaborating with the Financial Reporting team to ensure alignment.
• Supporting the Head of FP&A with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc requests.

What you should bring to the role

• Qualified accountant with extensive experience in management reporting and a proven track record of adding value.
• Experience in implementing new reports, analysis, and reconciliations of high quality.
• Willingness to lead projects such as improving forecast/budget books, automation, and process enhancements.
• Ability to handle large datasets and develop a single source of truth database.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization skills, and capability to manage ad-hoc tasks and projects.
• Excellent analytical, Excel (including financial modelling), and PowerPoint skills.
• Attention to detail while maintaining a strategic overview.
• Effective communication skills for preparing presentations and supporting document drafting for senior management.
• Proactive, ambitious, and committed to continuous improvement.
• System experience with SAP and HFM is preferable.
