Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic Management Accountant Reporting Lead to be responsible for all group management reports, including Group financial performance, Board reports, cash flow reports, and Forecast/Budget books. You will be key to providing partnership support for the wider FP&A and financial reporting teams in the business while delivering key analysis and insights.

This role will help drive the development of management reports and analysis across the group, ensuring best practice processes are implemented to deliver improved insights, accountability, and understanding of Thames Water's management results.

What you'll be doing as a Management Accountant Reporting Lead
  • Providing monthly reports to the CO-CEOs, CFO, the Board, and shareholders to the standard required by the audience.
  • Creating high-quality reports, analysis, and commentary on performance.
  • Managing relationships to understand drivers of performance and business cost trends, producing insights to support decision-making.
  • Understanding P&L and cash flow performance, providing insights on overall position, and improving Thames Water's understanding of its cost trends and drivers with the support of Business FP&A teams.
  • Collaborating with the Financial Reporting team to ensure alignment.
  • Supporting the Head of FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc requests.
What you should bring to the role?
  • Qualified accountant with extensive experience in management reporting and a proven track record of adding value.
  • Solid experience in implementing new reports, analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Willingness to lead projects such as Forecast/Budget books, bringing improvements and automation.
  • Ability to handle large data sets and build a reliable database.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage ad-hoc tasks and projects effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, Excel (including financial modeling), and PowerPoint skills.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a broad perspective.
  • Effective communication skills—able to prepare concise presentations and support the drafting of papers for Group Executive level.
  • Proactive and ambitious, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • System experience with SAP and HFM is preferable.
