Clark Wood is partnering with a top-tier South Yorkshire accountancy firm experiencing strong internal growth. As a result, they are looking to expand their outsourcing team with the addition of an experienced Senior Management Accountant.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Client Financial Controller or Finance Director, you will take ownership of preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and year-end accounts for a portfolio of larger clients with complex reporting requirements.

You’ll also lead on cloud accounting projects—including Xero conversions, training, and software support—while helping clients improve processes and reporting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT returns to deadlines

Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations to year-end standard

Build budgeting and forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

Provide accurate financial reporting and variance analysis

Support software migrations (primarily Xero) and offer client training

Develop expertise in key software apps to drive client efficiency

Candidate Profile:

Minimum 4-5 years’ practice experience in a UK accountancy firm

Proven experience preparing management accounts and year-end accounts

Proficient in Xero, Sage, and similar software

Ideally ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified (or equivalent)

Strong communication and software skills
