We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our exciting growing business. You will be responsible for performing a series of analyses to budget, plan and strategise business initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of extracting and understanding financial data to identify better operational decisions and improve overall performance of the business.

You will have an excellent foundation in accounting, a strong aptitude for financial analysis, a keen interest in business performance and the ability to see the bigger picture!

What will you be doing?

• Preparing income statements, balance sheets and other financial documents.
• Analysing profit and loss and measuring the company’s financial performance based on financial records, recommending improvements where needed.
• Analyse the historical financial data of the company to help estimate future revenues and expenses, create budgets, cashflows and generate internal reports used to make planning decisions.
• Working with project managers to negotiate and analyse projects and grants
• Preparing financial and cashflow forecasts.
• Helping the management team to make financial decisions.
• Preparing financial statements and reviews.
• Help create and communicate business strategies.
• Planning medium- and long-term business actions.
• Good at communicating with other department managers.
• Identifying problem areas and presenting recommendations to company management.
• Performing audits of departments within the organisation.

What do we need from you?

• Proven working experience as a Management Accountant.
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
• An ACA or CIMA qualification.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user (experience of Syspro beneficial but not essential).
