Job summary

Brook Street is partnering with a well-established Inverness-based manufacturing business to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant to develop in a fast-paced production environment.

The role suits newly qualified or recently qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or those with manufacturing or management accounting experience. You will provide financial insight to support decisions and drive performance improvements.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or nearing completion.
• Newly qualified accountants encouraged to apply.

• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Produce timely and accurate management information for decision making.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, margins and operational performance.
• Analyse production variances and identify profitability/efficiency improvements.
• Assist with inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and valuation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting activities.
• Collaborate with production and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Work with the site GM and assist with cash flow forecasting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
• Assist with audits and statutory reporting as required.

The Opportunity

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established business based in Inverness to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment.

The role would suit a newly qualified or recently qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant seeking their first move into industry, as well as individuals with relevant manufacturing or management accounting experience. You will work closely with operational and senior management teams, providing financial insight to support key business decisions and drive performance improvements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis.
• Support the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.

About You
