Job summary

Tatton Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team and deliver accurate, timely monthly reporting across the Group. You will own the month-end close, run balance sheet reconciliations and provide insightful commentary to support commercial decisions.

This hands-on role covers multiple entities, offering scope to improve finance processes and systems while coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification at finalist/newly qualified level.
• Experience preparing management accounts.
• Strong knowledge of month-end accounting and balance sheet controls.
• Experience with reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience supervising, reviewing or supporting the development of others.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering monthly management accounts across the Group.
• Leading the month-end close process and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Preparing and posting accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals.
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and financial records.
• Producing monthly reporting packs, management information and variance analysis.
• Providing financial commentary and insight to support business decisions.
• Analysing staff costs, overheads and profitability trends.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations, cost allocations and fixed asset records.
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting reconciliations.
• Supporting the Financial Controller with statutory audits and audit preparation.
• Reviewing transactional finance processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Supporting finance systems, integration and transformation projects.
• Coaching and mentoring members of the Finance team, including our Finance Assistant.
