Orion Group is partnering with a leading international engineering and manufacturing client to recruit a Management Accountant for their Glasgow finance team. The role delivers monthly management accounts, financial reporting and commercial insight across manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work with production, procurement and sales teams, support budgeting and forecasting, monitor costs and working capital, and help drive efficiency and stronger financial

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA).
• 3–5 years' experience in management accounting or similar finance role.
• Experience with month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage accruals, prepayments and associated journals.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing insight into financial performance.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, margins and working capital to drive efficiency and profitability.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and assist with corporation tax and other tax-related matters.
• Maintain cash flow forecasts, the fixed asset register and monthly depreciation.
• Reconcile intercompany balances, manage recharges and support multi‑currency reporting.
• Prepare payroll journals and contribute to year-end schedules, audit requirements and statutory reporting.
• Work collaboratively with production, procurement, sales and operational teams to provide financial insight.
• Support grant claims and liaise with external auditors, tax advisers and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and internal controls.
