Job summary

Reed is seeking a driven Management Accountant to join our Hadleigh-based finance team. The role focuses on producing monthly management accounts, budgeting, and cost analysis to support business performance. You will work closely with the Finance Director and other stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and strong financial controls.

The ideal candidate is AAT-qualified with at least 3 years in management accounting, with advanced Excel skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of management accounting experience.
• Experience producing management accounts and supporting budgeting and forecasting.
• Payroll experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and assist with financial reporting requirements.
• Support the Finance Director with the day-to-day running of the finance function.
• Manage accounts payable processes, including weekly payment runs in GBP and foreign currencies.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and profit and loss reporting.
• Analyse property-related and overhead costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.
• Support annual audit activities and liaise with external auditors and tax advisers.
• Oversee the renewal and management of maintenance and utility contracts.
• Provide occasional support to the payroll function when required.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
