For the area of Corporate Controlling located in Grimsby, UK, we invite Financial Controlling experts to submit applications for the role of Management Accountant / Cost Controller.

Main tasks & key accountabilities

The Management Accountant / Cost Controller will be responsible for:

1. Preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, producing monthly management information, and supporting senior leaders to maximize site profits.
2. Investigating variances and discrepancies in management accounts and providing explanations.
3. Managing the product costing system (IPP) and SAP FI / CO master data, including GL accounts and cost centers.
4. Supporting site teams with business cases for new products and CAPEX projects, developing value creation initiatives, and reporting on financial metrics.
5. Developing reporting tools for reliable and timely cost information.
6. Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, preparing budgets and forecasts, and providing information for statutory purposes such as audits, tax, and VAT.
7. Conducting stock checks and producing reconciliations with relevant departments.
8. Ensuring procedures are in place and up to date; deputizing for the Head of Finance when necessary.

Your ideal profile

1. Ideally a CIMA (or equivalent) qualified Accountant; at minimum, AAT qualified with the ambition to achieve CIMA qualification. Good understanding of relevant accounting standards.
2. Highly numerate and IT literate, with strong skills in SAP and MS Excel. Power BI experience is a plus.
3. Demonstrates high professional standards regarding accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
4. Self-motivated, able to prioritize and meet deadlines, and open to adopting new practices.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills.
