Management Accountant (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)


Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Cambridge office
Salary: £39,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months (Maternity Cover), starting September 2025 or earlier

Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for your next challenge in a collaborative and mission-driven environment? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled finance professional to join a Cambridge-based organisation on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and supporting a small team, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and audit support.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts to review stage, including detailed analysis and variance reporting.

  • Lead the annual budget setting process, supporting budget holders and producing relevant reports and spreadsheets.

  • Oversee monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, and payroll reconciliations.

  • Produce pension schedules and manage year-end reporting for pension schemes.

  • Support the year-end statutory audit, completing assigned audit file sections and finalising appendices to the annual accounts.

  • Provide financial oversight for investment properties, conferences, catering, and student accounts.

  • Participate in an upcoming finance system implementation project, contributing as relevant to the role.



About You:

  • Proven experience in management accounting and budget preparation.

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across departments.
