Job summary

Forge Talent is partnering with a growing, private equity-backed professional services group to appoint a Management Accountant. You will own monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting, contributing to group reporting and investor updates.

The role offers exposure to acquisitions and finance process improvements within a dynamic environment, based at the head office in South Manchester with a hybrid work pattern (4 days in office, 1 from home).

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong grounding in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with private equity- backed environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals to maintain strong financial control.
• Support board packs, group reporting and investor reporting.
• Assist with integration of acquired businesses into group finance processes and reporting.
• Support year-end audit, VAT returns, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and automation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across finance and business on key initiatives.

Forge Talent is partnering with a growing, private equity-backed professional services group as they look to appoint a Management Accountant.

The business is in an exciting phase of growth, with a strong focus on acquisitions and long-term expansion. This is a great opportunity to join an evolving finance team, gain exposure to group reporting and M&A activity, and play a key role in improving financial processes as the business continues to grow.

Reporting into the senior finance team, you’ll take ownership of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals, ensuring strong financial control
• Support board packs, group reporting and investor reporting
• Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses into group finance processes and reporting
• Support year-end audit, VAT returns, statutory reporting and compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, reporting and automation
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business
• Contribute to ad hoc projects as the group continues to expand

About You

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong grounding in management accounting and financial reporting.

You’ll be technically strong, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where processes and responsibilities continue to evolve.

Experience with finance systems, process improvement or group reporting would be beneficial. Exposure to private equity-backed environment would also be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
