Job summary

Forge Talent is partnering with a PE-backed group in Manchester to appoint a Group Accountant who will own group reporting, acquisition accounting and statutory responsibilities.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and CFO, you will manage monthly management accounts, intercompany reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and support audits. This is a broad role with exposure to senior stakeholders and an opportunity to drive finance improvements in a growing acquisitive business.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and UK accounting standards.
• Experience in group accounting or multi-entity environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts for head office entities and holding companies.
• Supporting group consolidations, board packs, investor updates and lender reporting.
• Assisting with acquisition accounting, completion accounts and acquired net asset calculations.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and reviewing financial submissions across multiple entities.
• Maintaining the group's rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and supporting banking and covenant reporting.
• Supporting year-end audits, statutory accounts, VAT and corporation tax compliance.
• Maintaining the group lease register and strengthening financial controls, processes and reporting.
• Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and CFO on ad hoc projects and wider finance initiatives.

Forge Talent is exclusively partnering with a PE-backed, £70m+ group entering its next phase of growth through an ambitious buy-and-build strategy.

With multiple acquisitions already completed and further growth planned, the business is investing in its group finance function and looking to appoint a technically strong Group Accountant to support its continued expansion.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this is a broad role offering exposure to group reporting, acquisition accounting, cash flow, statutory reporting and senior stakeholder engagement.

The role will include:

What we're looking for:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a good understanding of UK accounting standards.
• Experience in group accounting or a multi-entity environment would be advantageous.
• Someone organised, commercially aware and comfortable working to tight reporting deadlines.
• A hands-on approach, with the confidence to challenge numbers, investigate discrepancies and build relationships across the business.
