Job summary

Vertu SKODADarlington is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our finance team. You will produce management accounts for Skoda and Seat/Cupra franchises, support forecasting, payroll, and cashflow management, and ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations.

The role requires strong numerical and organisational skills, plus excellent communication with financial and non-financial stakeholders. An experienced market player with a passion for business performance will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant.
• Knowledge of Kerridge (or similar systems) preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Excellent numerical and organisational skills; Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce management accounts for Skoda and Seat/Cupra franchises.
• Prepare forecasts and estimates.
• Process payroll.
• Handle accruals and prepayments.
• Manage cashflow and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile manufacturer bonuses.
• Create spreadsheets and reports for the management team.
• Coach and develop finance team colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant
• Motor trade experience and knowledge ofKerridge(or similar systems) preferred but not essential
• Strong communication skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Excellent numerical and organisational skills
• Proficiency inExceland Microsoft Office
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with the teamto produce accurate financial information, enabling effective business decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing management accounts for Skoda as well as Seat/Cupra franchises
• Forecasts and estimates
• Payroll processing
• Accruals and prepayments
• Cashflow management
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconciling manufacturer bonuses
• Creating spreadsheets and statistical reports for the management team
• Coaching and developing colleagues within the finance team
