Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking an experienced Management Accountant for our Middlesbrough site. You will drive accurate reporting and analysis of site financial performance and support improvements to cost efficiency.

You’ll contribute to monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and capital project tracking, collaborating with the OpEx team and stakeholders across functions to deliver value and drive performance.

Qualifications

  • Part or fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW etc).
  • Advanced Excel and ERP skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Great communicator and comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, organised and able to flex to meet deadlines and drive results.
  • FMCG or manufacturing experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Interrogate site financial performance to assist decision making.
  • Monitor and report on key daily and weekly KPIs.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Prepare and monitor monthly reports; resolve queries promptly.
  • Assist the OpEx team in delivering cost reduction through manufacturing improvements.
  • Calculate and post accruals and prepayments.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Finance Manager review.
  • Forecast monthly site performance and annual budgets.
  • Forecast capital spend and benefits, aligned to approved proposals.
  • Track capital project spend and benefits against plans.
  • Support post-investment appraisals for capital projects.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our team in Middlesbrough!

This is an excellent opportunity for an operationally driven Management Accountant to join a fast-paced team, providing accurate reporting and analysis of site financial performance. You'll also support the ongoing development and enhancement of projects, processes and performance measures, helping to drive operational efficiency and meet evolving business requirements.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm

Your Duties Will Include:
  • Interrogation of site financial performance to assist decision making.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key daily and weekly performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensuring financial reporting is completely accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Preparation and monitoring of monthly reports, ensuring queries are resolved in a timely and effective manner
  • Assisting the OpEx team in driving cost reduction projects through manufacturing improvement projects
  • Calculating and posting all accruals and prepayments.
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliation for review and approval by the Finance Manager.
  • Monthly forecasting of site performance.
  • Annual budgeting of site performance.
  • Accurately forecast capital spend and benefits, ensuring alignment to approved capital proposal and escalating any delays / pull forwards
  • Tracking capital project spend and benefits, ensuring this aligns to the approved capital proposal.
  • Financial data gathering for the post investment appraisals for all capital projects.
  • Assisting with annual group R&D tax reclaim
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Part or fully Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW etc)
  • Advanced excel and ERP skills
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Great communicator and comfortable with liaising with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive, organised and able to flexibly in order to meet deadlines and have the drive to deliver results
