Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant professional credentials.
• Industry experience in Logistics is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to add value.
• Seeks to implement and improve processes.
• Clear communication of financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Accountability for actions and results with an inquisitive mindset.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with Supply Chain, Logistics and Head Office stakeholders.
• Prepare periodic management accounts with variance analysis.
• Maintain departmental balance sheet reconciliations and governance.
• Partner with operations and 3PLs to understand costs and drive savings.
• Coordinate half-year forecasts and budgets for multiple 3PLs and departments.
• Support inter-department transfers calculations and processing.
• Assist team with ad hoc duties as required.

Management Accountant – Supply Chain & Logistics

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Management Accountant to provide clear, commercially focused financial insight to our Supply Chain & Logistics teams. You’ll bring the story behind the numbers to life, helping operational colleagues understand performance, control costs and identify opportunities to work more efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Supply Chain, Logistics and Head Office functions, translating complex financial information into clear and actionable insights
• Preparation of periodic management accounts with variance analysis for review by Senior Finance Manager and operational teams
• Prepare and maintain accurate departmental balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust financial control and governance
• Partner with operational teams and 3PL providers to understand cost drivers, challenge performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
• Preparation and consolidation of robust half-yearly forecasting and budgets to measure business performance for multiple 3PLs and head office departments
• Partner with multiple departments to calculate and process inter-department transfers
• Support other members of the team and the business as required with ad hoc duties

What you’ll bring

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Industry experience within the Logistics sector is advantageous, but not essential
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities, challenge performance and add value
• Seeks to implement and improve processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial information for non-finance audiences
• Accountability for own actions and results with an inquisitive mindset
• Advanced Excel skills essential, with previous experience of analysing large volumes of data
