Management Accountant

A skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective financial management and strategic planning within the organization. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role involves working closely with senior management to provide financial insights, prepare management reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting:
  2. Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  3. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  4. Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  5. Cost Control:
  6. Analyse cost drivers and recommend strategies for cost efficiency.
  7. Implement and monitor budgetary controls.
  8. Cash Flow Management:
  9. Manage cash flow forecasts and report on financial liquidity.
  10. Oversee credit control and debtor management.
  11. Business Partnering:
  12. Support Account Heads with financial guidance to inform decision-making.
  13. Financial Modelling and Strategic Planning:
  14. Conduct financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives.
  15. Compliance and Audit:
  16. Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory regulations.
  17. Assist with internal and external audits.
  18. Systems and Processes:
  19. Develop and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
  20. Ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial records.
  21. Management:
  22. Line management of finance assistant(s).
