On A Roll Sandwich Company is a leading manufacturer of food to go products so as this is a manufacturing setting, the successful candidate would be required to work on site. What you will be doing

Responsibility for management and development of the Company’s accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely internal and external reporting as required.To support the senior management team’s decision making by providing meaningful analysis of profit and cost drivers in the business, insights and financial advice, and development of effective budgeting and forecasting processes. You will be responsible for:

• BOM set up and control
• Product costings
• Management and development of the accounting team and structure
• Develop a robust standard costing and weekly variance and reporting system
• Daily/Weekly reporting covering sales, material and labour variances
• Communicating variance analysis to wider management team so will need to be comfortable working across functions
• Identifying and recommending margin improvement opportunities
• Assisting with sales and margin budgeting
• Key contributor to the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Play a key role in the commercial and strategic management and development of the Company including the development of longer term strategic plans and capex decision making
• Responsible for developing and maintaining adequate processes and controls to support
• Working with advisors, ensure statutory compliance and regulatory requirements are adhered to
• Management of the annual audit process
• Building the accounts team structure and to ensure all areas of financial reporting, both internally and externally, are understood and covered
• Recommending a development plan in line with objectives agreed with MD/GM
• Gain a full understanding of the key cost drivers within the business, recommending improvements in reporting and visibility to support operational management and decision making

About you

• Qualified accountant (ACMA) with at least 4 years post qualification experience
• Be able to communicate professionally and effectively to a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
• Be highly focused on improving the controls and procedures of the business through robust accounting procedures
• Able to demonstrate a passion and energy for your work and as a member of the Senior Management team
• Previous management experience
• An outgoing and curious personality
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong planning and organisations skills with an ability to meet reporting deadlines
• Manufacturing experience, ideally within food or FMCG, with a sound knowledge of standard costing systems in a FMCG business.
• Strong IT/Excel skills
