Hamilton Woods Associates are working with a growing UK business to recruit a Management Accountant on a 15-month fixed-term contract. Based in Leicester, the role offers hybrid working and the chance to add value beyond producing the numbers.

The successful candidate will be experienced in producing full management accounts, understand month-end and reconciliations, and provide meaningful financial insight to operational stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or able to demonstrate equivalent Management Accounting experience.
• Experienced in producing full management accounts.
• Strong technically, with a good understanding of month-end, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity across the business.
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently achieved.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying key variances, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce detailed variance analysis and provide commentary to support management reporting.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and wider financial planning.

The Opportunity

Hamilton Woods Associates are working exclusively with a well-established and growing UK business to recruit a Management Accountant on a 15-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join a well-structured finance function and play a key role in delivering accurate management information, supporting month-end reporting and providing meaningful financial insight to the wider business.

The role would suit an experienced Management Accountant who enjoys working closely with operational stakeholders and wants a position that offers genuine exposure beyond simply producing the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity across the business.
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently achieved.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying key variances, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce detailed variance analysis and provide commentary to support management reporting.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and wider financial planning.
• Work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to understand business performance.
• Provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate to support better decision-making.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure processes are followed effectively.
• Support year-end and audit requirements.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and projects as required.

About You

• Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or able to demonstrate equivalent Management Accounting experience.
• Experienced in producing full management accounts.
• Strong technically, with a good understanding of month-end, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Comfortable analysing financial information and explaining findings to non-finance stakeholders.
• Commercially minded, with the confidence to challenge and ask the right questions.
• Advanced in Excel and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data.
• Able to work independently while operating effectively within a wider Finance team.
• Immediately able to add value and comfortable stepping into a role on a fixed-term basis.
