Job summary

SRM Recruitment are partnering with a high-growth SME on the outskirts of Guildford to recruit a permanent Management Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support day-to-day accounting and month-end processes, ensuring records are accurate and delivered on time.

Key duties include monthly management accounts and reporting packs, revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasts, year-end audits, and collaborating with non-finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified by experience accountants with relevant experience.
• Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Commercially minded with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and build relationships with non-finance colleagues.
• Advanced level Excel and experience using SAP B1.
• Stock control, VAT reconciliation and related reconciliations.
• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Handle day-to-day accounting and month-end processes to ensure accuracy.
• Support month-end close and revenue recognition.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and year-end audit.
• Partner with stakeholders to support commercial decisions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain controls.
• Manage banking and VAT activities.

SRM Recruitment are currently partnering exclusively with a high-growth SME based on the outskirts of Guildford, Surrey, to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a key hire for the business as the Finance function acts as a true business partner to stakeholders.

In this broad and varied role, the Management Accountant will support the Financial Controller in the day-to-day accounting and month-end processes, ensuring the financial records are accurate, complete and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Day-to-day accounting and month-end processes, ensuring the financial records are accurate, complete and delivered on time.
• Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and year-end audit.
• Partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to understand key drivers and support commercial decision-making.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Banking and VAT.

We would be keen to speak with candidates who possess the following skills and experience:

• Part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience Accountants (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience.
• Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Commercially minded, with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work using own initiative and build and maintain relationships with non finance colleagues.#
• Advanced level Excel.
• Experience of using SAP B1.
• Excellent communicator who can work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Stock and WIP – strong understanding of stock control, inventory management, work in progress and related reconciliations.
• VAT reconciliation and submission – experience preparing, reconciling and submitting VAT returns.
• Good working knowledge of import VAT.
• Ideally, experience working in a manufacturing environment and an understanding of the related financial processes.

Key information:

• Our client is offering a salary of £45,000-£60,000.
• Fully office based but there is the possibility of some flexible/hybrid working.
