Base pay range

This exciting role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the month-end management accounts process, lead and develop a team of two assistant accountants, and drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and control recommendations. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, playing a pivotal role in supporting strategic financial decisions.

Our client is a large organisation specialising in the industrial manufacturing sector. Based in Glasgow, they are known for their commitment to quality and innovation. The company thrives on fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. This will be a hybrid role (3x & 2x).

Description

The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:

Responsibility for the completion month end, ensuring that all central management accounting processes, accounting and journals are completed on an accurate and timely basis.
Provide support to the preparation of Forecast and Budget Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
To prepare balance sheet reconciliations as required and ensure reconciling items are understood, actioned and resolved quickly.
Key contact for any internal audit reviews.
Assist in planning, executing and monitoring the progress of continuous improvement projects.
Entry of month end journals for reporting.
Assist in the documentation of key processes within Finance.
Assist in ensuring that internal and external control recommendations are actioned in a timely manner and that internal controls are appropriately actioned in accordance with the CAD (Controls Assessment Document).
Prepare reports for the Management team of Finance.
All other duties or tasks as requested by your line manager.

Profile

A clear project and process improvement orientation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written
Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail
CIMA, ACCA or ICAS qualified
