I am working on with a london market insurer who is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support their quarterly close processes and strengthen financial reporting across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role working closely with both the US and UK Finance Managers, with oversight of four external contractors (no direct reports).
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including banking, treasury, and financial controls.
Prepare quarterly management accounts, consolidation packs, and board reporting materials.
Maintain efficient month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow oversight.
Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain strong audit files.
Ensure accurate intercompany accounting, including recharges, accruals, and prepayments.
Deliver management, regulatory, and compliance reporting.
Support process improvement initiatives and assist with finance setup for new business activities.
Identify and manage financial risks and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
Review and approve invoices, expenses, payments, and payroll-related items.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and double-entry expertise.
Strong systems and data capability.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Detail-focused, proactive, and accountable.
Strong problem-solving skills and resilience.
SOX experience preferred.
