Job summary

University of Cambridge is seeking a Management Accountant to provide monthly management accounts, variance analysis and financial advice to Estates Division managers. You will drive planning, budgeting and financial modelling to support strategic decisions.

The role requires ACMA/ACA/ACCA or CIPFA qualification (or by experience), strong analytical capability and excellent Excel skills. You'll partner with budget holders to improve processes and deliver reliable financial information.

  • Qualified accountant (ACMA/ACA/ACCA/CIPFA) or qualified by experience.
  • Experience delivering a full range of finance services.
  • Experience designing financial procedures.
  • Understanding of 5-Year Planning and Financial Modelling.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

The RoleThe ED Management Accountant provides operational information and advice to the ED Finance Manager and ED senior managers on financial performance, supporting and mentoring them in planning and financial operation of their sections.The role exists to provide a wide range of financial management advice and support to the Division, and to enhance financial management throughout ED. The role holder also plays a part in the Financial Planning & Analysis in developing and delivering the University's financial planning and decision support.The role holder will provide monthly management accounts and commentary with variance analysis and will highlight any concerns or significant variances to budget or business expectations. The role holder contributes to the integrated management of the Division and the University.We are now looking for a Management Accountant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.
