Job summary

IPS Finance is recruiting for a growing, privately owned business in the consumer services sector. The role combines weekly and monthly payroll duties with the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will own key finance processes, improve reporting and support the ongoing development of the finance function. A strong payroll background and Xero experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Part qualified or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA accountant, or qualified by experience.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Strong payroll experience, including processing high volumes of overtime and variable pay.
• Practical experience using Xero and Xero Payroll.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and reconciliations.
• Able to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly and monthly payroll using Xero Payroll, including overtime, variable pay, statutory deductions and pension contributions.
• Reconcile timesheets, overtime and payroll information, investigating discrepancies and resolving queries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce budget versus actual reporting, variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Prepare weekly KPI reports covering sales, operational costs, margins and profitability.
• Support cash flow forecasting, supplier payment runs and working capital management.
• Assist with VAT returns, credit control and year end audit preparation.
• Support the Financial Controller with board reporting and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems and internal controls.

IPS Finance is recruiting for a growing, privately owned business in the consumer services sector. The company has experienced significant growth and is investing in its finance function to improve financial reporting, controls and operational performance.

Working closely with the Finance Director, this is a varied, hands-on role combining responsibility for weekly and monthly payroll with the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of key finance processes, improve reporting and support the continued development of the finance function.
