Role: Management Accountant

Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA - Office Based (location subject to change due to planned office relocation)

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Salary: £36,575 - £47,025 Dependent on experience & Discretionary Bonus Scheme

About the role...

Our Finance Team is looking for a Management Accountant. In this role, you will be part of our Country Finance Team and responsible for producing monthly management accounts, assisting in year-end audits, producing journals, and supporting project work.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will collaborate with experienced senior finance partners & accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant aiming to advance their finance career.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
• Produce and post key journals, including accruals, prepayments, and income adjustments.
• Support commercial finance with information and performance analysis for decision-making.
• Develop processes and controls to manage risks in line with Group standards.
• Assist in producing accurate monthly and quarterly financial results for planning and commercial teams.
• Support the year-end statutory audit process.
• Handle ad hoc projects as assigned by the Finance Director or Financial Controller.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register and ensure timely postings for acquisitions/disposals.
• Coordinate with Transaction Services (AP/AR/Banking) for smooth month-end processes.
• Support variance and trend analysis by site and GL line item.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or part-qualified by experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Willingness to learn.
