This role leads the delivery of accurate management accounts, month-end reporting, and financial controls. It involves collaborating with finance partners on journal postings, accruals, and reconciliations, while managing purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, and payroll inputs. The position also oversees complex financial issues and ensures compliance with audit and regulatory standards.

The role supports continuous improvement in financial processes and risk controls, ensuring timely vendor payments and customer invoicing. It includes managing one-off transactions, performing control checks, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to safeguard cashflow. A proactive approach to quality and compliance is essential.

What will I be doing?
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Collaborating with Finance Business Partners to ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Overseeing the analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Managing core finance operations including accounts payable, bank transactions, sales ledger, credit control, and month-end processes.
  • Handling complex or sensitive financial matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Preparing payroll input data for submission to external payroll providers.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for supplier relationships, representing the organisation in day-to-day interactions.
  • Partnering with the wider Financial Shared Services team to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and customer invoicing.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes and systems.
  • Enhancing the financial control framework to support robust governance and compliance.
  • Performing control checks to validate financial postings align with process documentation and risk frameworks.
  • Liaising with external suppliers to mitigate financial and cashflow risks.
  • Overseeing one-off payment transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations and control activities to maintain financial integrity.
  • Ensuring all financial operations meet quality standards and comply with audit, regulatory, and statutory requirements, taking corrective action where needed.
What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • High level of numeracy with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as NAV, Sage 200, SAP, or Trintech.
