Job Description
As a Management Accountant, you will be producing management accounts and commentary for key areas of the business. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for central overhead cost centres, including profit and loss and balance sheet statements.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties such as managing the central mailbox and responding to inquiries.
- Oversee the Accounts Assistant and the day-to-day transactional accounting duties.
The Successful Applicant
The Management Accountant will have:
- Significant previous experience in management or financial accounting.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to create and develop spreadsheets.
- Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures, and current legislation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review and spot errors or queries.
- Continuous improvement mentality—able to identify and implement process improvements efficiently.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
- Team player with the desire to collaborate with and challenge finance and operational colleagues appropriately.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and work with the business to conclusions.
- Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Enthusiasm to develop knowledge and responsibilities.
