Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a finance professional to join our Corporate Finance team in Abingdon. You will own key accounting activities in a multi-currency matrix organisation and support accurate financial reporting across the company.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will handle monthly journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany postings, while developing your people partnering experience across teams and functions.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting or financial analysis within a large, multi-currency organisation.
• Strong Excel skills are essential; ERP system experience is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journals, accruals, prepayments and payroll postings for month-end close.
• Take ownership of balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and intercompany activity.
• Investigate queries with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Contribute to projects, system changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to understand financial activity and provide finance support.

Looking for a finance role where you can build your technical expertise while developing broader people partnering experience? Join our Corporate Finance team and take ownership of key accounting activities within a complex multi-currency matrix organisation.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll join our Shared Service Finance team. You’ll support accurate and effective financial reporting across a large organisation, taking responsibility for key month end, balance sheet and intercompany activities.

This role offers more than traditional management accounting. We’re looking for someone who is curious about the business behind the numbers and keen to build relationships across different teams and functions.

Your Impact in this position

You’ll take ownership of monthly journal workings, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accruals, prepayments and postings, alongside intercompany transactions, payments and reconciliations.

Working with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll investigate queries, ask the right questions and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial information. As your knowledge grows, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your business partnering experience and contribute to projects, system changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Core Capabilities

• Management Accounting & Month-End Prepare monthly journals, accruals, prepayments and payroll postings, helping deliver an accurate and efficient month end close to strict deadlines.
• Financial Control & Reconciliation Take ownership of balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, exchange rate analysis and cleardowns, while supporting audit and compliance requirements.
• Systems & Financial Analysis Use your Excel and ERP expertise to analyse financial information, investigate discrepancies and maintain high-quality financial data.
• Business Partnering & Collaboration Build relationships across the business, proactively engaging with internal stakeholders to understand financial activity, resolve queries and provide effective finance support.
• Continuous Improvement & Development Look for smarter ways of working and contribute to finance projects, process improvements and system changes within a complex organisation.

Skills, Qualifications And Experience

You’ll have relevant management accounting or financial analysis experience, ideally gained within a large, multi disciplinary or multi currency organisation. Strong Excel skills are essential, while experience with Oracle, GL wand systems or another large ERP environment would be valuable.

Working Environment

We offer hybrid working (2 days per week in Abingdon office). The team currently go in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, however we are open to discussing this.
