Purpose of the Role

The Pre-Sales Consultant, working within the managed services team, will serve as the subject matter expert for HSO's managed services. The role involves understanding business needs in a managed service context to support account managers in positioning and selling solutions and services, aiming to meet customer value and revenue goals. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies and managed service environments is essential, including experience in creating comprehensive cost models and support contracts.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a mature business unit with ambitious growth plans. You will contribute to expanding HSO's managed service offerings through pre-sales efforts across all service lines, influencing the development of cost models, service offerings, efficiencies, and customer-centric strategies.

Reporting Line

The Pre-Sales Consultant reports to the Head of MS Service Delivery and Pre-Sales, collaborating with the MS pre-sales team, sales executives, and account managers.

Job Functions
  • Perform detailed managed service discovery to define solution strategies and design outsourcing services for clients.
  • Articulate proposed managed service solutions and benefits at all organizational levels, including third-party integrations where applicable.
  • Assist with account development, bids, and campaign strategies for managed services.
  • Establish credibility as the subject matter expert for HSO's managed services.
  • Engage with clients at detailed and executive levels to understand business requirements and demand.
  • Create managed services cost models.
  • Lead the creation of customer-facing support contracts and service descriptions.
  • Collaborate with UK and global managed service teams to improve services, processes, and cost models.
  • Work with internal resources across service lines to propose optimal solutions.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Coordinate with third parties as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven success in pre-sales or consultancy within a managed service environment.
  • Broad understanding of outsourcing services.
  • Knowledge of Service Management and ITIL is advantageous.
  • Ability to identify and act on business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels.
  • Experience in building and owning large managed service cost models.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and creating managed service contracts.
