Job summary

Covenco Managed Services in the UK is seeking a proactive Backup & DR Operations support specialist to join our hybrid team. You will monitor Veeam backups, assist with Cloud Connect, and help with onboarding and DR testing.

You will work across VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms, participate in on-call rotations, and follow ISO-aligned change processes while pursuing VMCE and Microsoft certifications.

• Microsoft 365 Administrator certification.

About Covenco Managed Services

Covenco is a Veeam Platinum Partner, operating large-scale Veeam Cloud Connect platforms with multi-integrations and leveraging the full Veeam suite—including Veeam ONE, Recovery Orchestrator, VSPC, and more. Our Managed Services team delivers reliable backup and disaster recovery solutions alongside infrastructure support across VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, Nutanix, and hybrid/public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, M365). BaaS, DRaaS, and IaaS are at the heart of what we do, providing proven ransomware recovery services.

Key Responsibilities

• Backup & DR Operations
• Monitor and manage Veeam Backup & Replication jobs and Veeam for M365.
• Assist with Cloud Connect operations and basic troubleshooting.
• Work with Veeam components such as Veeam ONE and VSPC for reporting and monitoring.
• Support customer onboarding activities by following documented steps and completing handover checklists.
• Participate in scheduled DR testing exercises under guidance.

Helpdesk & Ticket Handling

• Respond to backup-related incidents and service requests via Covenco's ticketing system.
• Investigate common backup failures and elevate complex issues when needed.
• Provide clear updates and maintain accurate ticket documentation.

Infrastructure Support

• Perform routine operational tasks across VMware, Hyper-V and other Hypervisors
• Assist with basic Microsoft stack and M365 tenancy administration.

Cloud & Hybrid

• Learn and support implementation of Veeam backup policies for Azure/AWS and M365.
• Learn and assist with Veeam for Salesforce protection tasks.

Governance & Documentation

• Follow Covenco's ISO-aligned change process (E-CAB/DCAB, Four Eyes).
• Contribute to documentation such as RAMS and RCA under supervision.

On-Call Support

• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (approximately 1 in 4 weeks) to provide out-of-hours support for critical incidents.

Certifications (Desirable)

• Working towards VMCE level
• VMware Foundational, working towards VCP level
• Microsoft Azure Administrator
• Microsoft 365 Administrator

Training & Development

You’ll have access to Covenco's internal training programme and partner-led courses, including:

• Veeam
• Mimecast
• Sophos
• Microsoft

Location:

• Hybrid role with ability to commute to our Banbury HQ and Datacentre.

General Requirements:

• Ability to work in the UK without sponsorship
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
• Valid passport (for occasional overseas travel)
• Willing to undergo standard DBS vetting
