As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!
Our intensive support service in Dumfries is an activity based and supportive environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, supporting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support at the theme park, swimming, supporting visits with family, in local bars and pubs, or going to the theatre.
This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.
We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right skills and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, preferably have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma. However, if you do not have experience in a similar role, we do ask for a desire to learn and a genuine caring attitude.
