Job summary

Aspire People are currently recruiting a Male SEN Teaching Assistant to work across Birmingham, Walsall, Tamworth and Staffordshire in specialist SEND settings. You will support pupils with additional needs, including personal care where required, working 1:1 or in small groups to aid learning and development.

The role involves supporting pupils with SEND, autism, ADHD and complex needs, under the guidance of teachers, in a safe, nurturing environment. Enhanced DBS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people.
• Experience in SEND, care, residential, youth work or education.
• Comfortable providing personal care.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient.
• Ability to build positive relationships and manage behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within the classroom alongside teaching staff.
• Assist on 1:1 and small-group basis with learning, communication, behaviour and personal development.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
