Job Title: Male Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Hours: 35 hours a week plus 1 or 2 sleep-in night shifts a week. You will also be required to cover annual leave and sickness when necessary. Living within a 20-mile radius of Llandudno Junction is desirable. This is a permanent position, and we are looking for staff who can make a long-term commitment.

Rates of Pay: £12.00 per hour.

Location: Llandudno Junction

Closing date: 13.1.2025

About the job:

We are looking for experienced carers for full-time work with a severely disabled man. This is a permanent position, and we are looking for staff who can make a long-term commitment.

Main tasks:
  1. Provide support for personal care, household chores, and daily tasks.
  2. Administer medication, assist with toileting, washing, dressing/undressing, and application of prescribed dressings.
  3. Assist with moving and handling, including using a hoist (full training provided).
  4. Cover for annual leave and sickness, which may include additional overnight shifts.
  5. Assist with household duties, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
  6. Accompany to appointments, shopping, and social outings.
  7. Record relevant information and support communication with the team.
  8. Undertake any relevant training and ongoing joint review and supervision as required.
Person specification:
  1. Experience of working with someone who has a physical disability and manual handling is desirable.
  2. A non-judgemental attitude and enthusiasm to learn is essential.
  3. Encouraging with a positive attitude while respecting decisions.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to use common sense and be intuitive.
  5. Ability to record and communicate accurately with a range of people.
  6. Understanding, supportive, motivated, and respectful.
  7. Good problem-solving skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
  8. Basic awareness of good hygiene practice, food safety, and health and safety.
  9. A driving license is desirable.
  10. Establish and maintain a professional standard of care.
  11. Respectful of privacy and confidentiality.
  12. Punctual, reliable, trustworthy, and flexible.
  13. Respect and safeguard all goods and property.
  14. A full DBS check will be carried out, the cost of which will be paid by the employer.
