Hours: 45-50 per week (hours are negotiable)

Role: Full Time Sushi Chef

We're Maki & Ramen – a growing, Japanese-inspired dining brand known for our homemade ramen and freshly prepared sushi. With a strong focus on quality and warm, attentive service, we’re passionate about delivering a memorable experience for every guest.

Our Leicester location is opening soon, and we’re looking for an experienced and driven Sushi Chef to lead the launch and shape the future of this exciting new site. If you're ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a vibrant, expanding team, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and craft sushi dishes with precision and presentation as per company requirements
  • Maintain top hygiene and food safety standards
  • Manage fish and ingredient inventory
  • Ensure knife skills and techniques meet traditional standards
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth service
  • Stay updated on seasonal ingredients and sushi trends

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Knowledge and experience in sushi preparation (know how to fillet fish, make basic and advanced sushi and sashimi)
  • Proficiency in handling variety of sushi ingredients
  • Have understanding of food and safety regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong sense of cleanliness and attention to detail
  • Food handling certification (as required by region
  • Strong teamwork skills
