Job summary

Aberystwyth University in Aberystwyth is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to lead a team delivering major philanthropy income from gifts in lifetime and wills. The post engages with donors across the UK and internationally, working closely with senior stakeholders and alumni networks.

The role requires strong relationship management, strategic donor engagement, and the ability to secure six- and seven-figure gifts while aligning with university policy and donor wishes.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience of securing a five or six figure gift from an individual, from initiating first contact to cultivation, through to gift agreement.
• Experience of developing and achieving philanthropic income targets.
• Knowledge of proactive legacy giving strategies,

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of fundraising professionals to meet ambitious income targets.
• Develop and manage a rolling portfolio of major donors and legators at local, national, UK and international levels.
• Develop compelling cases for support and secure six- and seven-figure philanthropic gifts.
• Oversee a proactive legacy giving strategy to maximise gifts in wills.
• Draft and present proposals through meetings, events and publications.
