Job summary

BA Cityflyer is seeking a Maintrol Engineer to act as the central coordination point between stations, maintenance providers and pilots. You will manage Line Maintenance, ensure regulatory compliance and drive timely rectification of defects while coordinating spares and documentation.

You will provide real-time technical guidance to flight crews, support aircraft recovery, and help optimise efficiency through monitoring tools.

Qualifications

  • UK/EASA Part-66 B1 or B2 Licence required.
  • Experience in a maintenance or maintenance-control environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Experience improving efficiency and reducing operational costs.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes.
  • Good understanding of airline operations and procedures.
  • Computer literate, MS Office and maintenance systems.
  • Experience working on Embraer 170/190 or similar technology aircraft desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as central coordination point between Line Stations, third-party maintenance providers and pilots.
  • Manages scheduled and unscheduled Line Maintenance activities ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Controls and monitors ADDs, coordinating spares, tooling and documentation.
  • Supports aircraft recovery through technical guidance and crew coordination.
  • Provides real-time technical assistance to flight crews and engineers.
  • Coordinates information flow after incidents and assists recovery planning.
  • Allocates aircraft per priorities across operations and maintenance.
  • Utilises aircraft monitoring tools to improve performance and reliability.
  • Provides specialist technical support with safety and regulatory considerations.

What you’ll do:
  • Acts as the central coordination point between Line Stations, third-party maintenance providers and pilots to ensure safe and reliable daily operations.
  • Manages scheduled and unscheduled Line Maintenance activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and maintenance programme requirements.
  • Controls and monitors Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs), driving timely rectification and coordinating required spares, tooling and documentation.
  • Supports aircraft recovery through technical guidance, logistics coordination and oversight of crew duty-time limitations.
  • Provides real-time technical assistance to flight crews and engineers during in-flight or ground-based operational issues.
  • Coordinates information flow following aircraft incidents and contributes to recovery planning.
  • Allocates aircraft in line with operational, engineering and maintenance priorities.
  • Responsible for improving aircraft and Engineering performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools
  • Provides specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

About our offer:

Salary : £79,812 (inclusive of shift pay) plus a non contractual discretionary incentive award.

  • This full-time role will be based in our Head Office, Didsbury, Manchester and is a shift-based role.
